The wage gap and promotion gap among Black people costs trillions to the economy.

Though we can all rally on about how you must treat people equally regardless of their skin color, caste, creed, or race, exploitation, and differences still exist in society. Especially when it comes to America, you can find racial exploitation happening everywhere. You can see how white privilege keeps holding back every new development the country can make. Black laborers face a prominent gap in terms of opportunity, pay, promotion, and financial stability with the American labor market. This difference not only puts the lives of black people in misery. It also costs the economy of the United States of America approximately a trillion dollars.  The pay gap between black people alone would have bridged to contribute 2.7 trillion dollars to the economy. Even as of today, African American workers do not get equal job opportunities. Black laborers tend to get employed in jobs that pay less and do not promise stability. Jobs in executive and leadership roles seem out of their reach due to systematic obstacles. According to the observations of McKinsey and Company, African Americans occupy nearly 12 percent of the workforce at the entry-level and & percent in the managerial level. As you move to higher positions in the job, you can see that the Black workers and professionals are very few compared to white Americans. If the same condition goes on, according to the calculations of the company, it could take nearly a century for the black people to climb up the ladder of the private companies. Averagely, African American men do have the privilege of getting a well-paying job, a job with stability, or getting a promotion in their job due to comparatively lesser skills than white Americans. This difference starts from something as basic as education that does a great deal of damage and leaves the black families economically insecure. Black Americans get a wage that is a minimum of 25 percent less than that of the whites. Black women that face more hurdles than black men get a minimum of 40 percent less pay than an average white woman. 

We could understand that nearly a million-dollar due must be paid to black women annually if they were treated equally without racial exploitation. These systematic hurdles are just the branches of the tree called racial discrimination. Changes in American society concerning the promotion and wage gaps can never happen as long as the tree named Racial discrimination stands tall.
